Very tasty and a great presentation.

Traveling through town, nice little restaurant. Sushi was top notch, packed house service still good. Don't let the outside appearance keep you away.

I am a very pick eater and do not like seafood. Amimoto has sushi that is so delicious that even I will eat it! I always get there miso soup, salad with ginger dressing, and their amimoto and spicy tuna rolls. I only wish that they did takeout!

Went to Amimoto Japanese Restaurant on September 25, 2018....I had the cooked Salmon..It was delicious and my friend had the Sushi Bar...He said it was the best!!!

Great traditional sushi, without a bunch of trendy sauces. Everything is extremely fresh and tastey. The cooked dinners are fantastic, the best being the salmon, kobi beef, scallops and tempura. There is something for everone here, whether you like fish or not.

Best in the biz around Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda and North Port.... go no where else

Love the owner Toni. Love the food to death. And love the simplicity of the small comfortable dining room that rings true to a authentic Japanese experience. By far the best Japanese food you will get in Florida. Been coming here sense I was a kid... Has never ever disappointed.

First time visiting this wonderful place! Have to say I really enjoyed myself. Food was perfect! Even got a appetizer on the house. Chef was very kind and a pleasure to be around.After some confusion about ordering (totally are fault by the way) my friend was gifted a bottle of sake. So we went ahead and ordered some more sushi and it was amazing! As we go to leave the server said we would not be charged for the sushi either! Thanks Toni!

Dinner out with best friends. Small area for seating. But the service and the food are top notch. The sushi is so fresh and tasty. The ginger soy dressing needs to be bottled and sold so I can buy a case. Not our first time here and far from our last. Pride in their restaurant and service and food quality are evident in everything they do. One of our favorite places.

Great food and unfiltered sake in small cozy place

Excellent sushi and a comfortable dining atmosphere. Easily the best place for sushi in Charlotte County. They are a small operation so do not expect the dining experience of Applebee's (which is to your benefit). Relax and enjoy yourself. Each item is individually prepared, not some assembly line.

Best experience since quarantine! Seemed like the owners were the ones working and both were wearing face masks and gloves. They practiced social distancing and the pen to sign the receipt was in a napkin. They even had a cute basket of cloth masks that were free to customers. Thank you for being safe and open. The sushi was delicious

Was in town for a night and found this place close. Sushi was ok and took 45 mins to get our food and they where not very busy.

Some of the best sushi my husband and I have had for a long time! We were pleasantly surprised to find sushi of this quality. Best advice is that you should make reservations, the restaurant is on the smaller side, and people love to dine here. We went about 6:30pm, they just managed to squeeze us in without a reservation. Wait staff was polite and attentive. You can tell they have their regulars here, as everyone was giving a shout out to the chef as they arrived or left.

In an hour and 45 minutes we got miso soup and 3 appetizers. Understaffed, poorly run. We will not be back.

Best you can find in Charlotte County. Highly recommend.

Love Amimoto! Super fresh and always excellent service. Small dining area and nice and quiet. What a refreshing experiene to be able to have a conversation with the people at your table. Sushi Chef is solo so don't expect fast food, but the wait is worth it!

Five stars is an understatement. This little restaurant is a treat for anyone looking for the finest Japanese styled food in Florida. The staff were exemplary and the food was perfectly made. Every morsel in this restaurant is made with heart and passion, making each dish an art piece as well as an enticing meal.Go here if you're looking for top notch customer service, and excellent Japanese cuisine.

Very tasty authentic Japanese cuisine served in a peaceful and nicely decorated small dining area, good attentive service.

Wanted to order $200 worth of sushi in advance but they would not accommodate. Terrible customer service. the woman who answered the phone didn't even speak English well enough to give me a reason, and refused to find anyone that would be able to help me.

Friendly place but slow service. My family loves sushi but I cannot have it and not much choice on menu for me. My family thought food was OK.

My wife and I made the mistake of going to this restaurant on a Saturday evening about 6 p.m. We were seated at the bar (the tables were full) and promptly waited on. We ordered about 6:05 p.m. and then waited, and waited and waited...until our food came about 7:10 p.m.! It was an unreasonably long time. Notwithstanding, the food was excellent. Then, it was an ordeal to get the check....which took another 15 minutes! Slowwwwwww service/excellent food. I think we'll go back and give it another try! I'm giving the restaurant a 5 because of the great food and how hard the man behind the sushi counter worked to fill customers' orders. Perhaps they were understaffed or we just hit it wrong.....

Really good.... almost great sushi.... but bring a book. The service is quite slow. Saturday night 1 server 1 busser and no one was scanning the room.

Great food, not so great service. Pros: Food is top-notch. They have an amazing Christmas display of miniature mechanical trains and villages that is really worth seeing. Cons: Service is painfully slow, and waiters seem more interested in playing slap and tickle with each other than paying attention to their tables. Prices are on the high end. If you go, plan on dropping a Benjamin or more on dinner for 2. Neutrals: Dining room is very small. Some consider this a pro; for us, it was a con. Tables are extremely close and the gentleman next to us had a doubled-over coughing fit. Felt bad for him, but we also felt like we needed a shower afterwards.

We go here on special occasions and bring our kid, love it. The fish is so fresh. Walking in you can't tell they serve fish. You will be there about 2 hours if they are busy but the food is worth the wait.

Wonderful find. Came on a Thursday night without reservations. I had the duck dinner and my friend had vegetable sushi with green tea. The food was freshly prepared and there was a lot of it. The service was friendly. It's a very cute place with lots of atmosphere, very serene. Made me feel like I was back in Japan.

Top notch sushi. But the entrees are also surprisingly delicious. Service is good but during busy time prepare to wait but then again good sushi places are worth waiting for.
